teckit

* Availability

Builds on all supported architectures in Ubuntu and on almost on sync from Debian
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/teckit/2.5.8+ds2-5ubuntu1 (one ppc64el fix which has been approved to NMU in Debian)

* Rationale
It's a new depends from texlive-bin

* Security

No CVE/known security issue

* Quality assurance

- the desktop-packages team is going to subscribe to the package
- the bug list is empty in Ubuntu and has one report in Debian (which is an Ubuntu fix submitted back)
- upstream has a testsuit which is not being used during build, we are going to look at changing that

* Dependendies

The package uses standard desktop libraries that are already in main

* Standards compliance

the package is using standard packaging (dh11), the standards-version is current

* Maintainance

The package should be maintained in Debian and in sync, Ubuntu Desktop is going to look at problems if needed

I think xxhash used to be bundled in texlive-bin too, but I don't have the time to investigate that now or work on this MIR.

Confirmed that xxhash is a code split rather than new code in main.

Since this is tied up in the massive release-opening Debian sync transition right now, I'm going ahead and pre-promoting xxhash and subscribing desktop-packages to it. Since I am not the MIR team, I am leaving the bug task open.

this looks ok, besides the missing test run. The debian/rules file says:

  # not to be run, removes compiled files
  override_dh_auto_test:

So probably this should be run as an autopkg test with the build-required restriction.

@it has been moved back to universe in focal, eoan isn't supported anymore and it's not a component desktop is using or interested in, I'm unsubscribing desktop-packages now. If it's promoted back one of the teams looking after rsync should subscribe

It came back now as dependency for rsync and (thanks Steve) Foundations is subscribed to cover it.

Can be promoted to main in groovy
