Bug Description
While the LLDPD commissioning script provides useful information about the network it is not necessary for MAAS to function. A bug in the LLDPD, as seen in LP:1801152, can prevent machines from finishing commissioning. During commissioning the LLDPD script is MAAS's longest running script when testing MAAS it would be useful to disable this script.
By turning the LLDPD script into a script stored in the Script model like test scripts are MAAS can make the LLDPD commissioning script a default commissioning script but allow users to deselect it.

Not in plans to stop collecting lldp information nor make it optional. This is a product decision as it’s widely used in the field.
The reference bug in the description should be addressed nonetheless.
