Backup fails after one incorrect password verification attempt

Bug Description

Currently, passwords are (optionally, by default) verified every two months, and if the password verification is incorrect, the backup will fail. For those with sloppy typing or a bad memory, this is hugely inconvenient since no second chance is given. At least a few attempts should be allowed!

Hello Kyra,

I was not able to reproduce this, as after deliberately mistyping the password I was presented with another password prompt over and over. So I got a "second change".

@Michael Terry: I set up my backup to ask for the password every time, as I did not wanted to wait a month before reproducing this. Maybe this is the difference?

I don’t think that would be a difference? Maybe this got fixed from the password handling rework after the passphrase problems we hit. If this can’t be reproduced, I’ll close for now. Please re-open if you still hit this bug on version 40 or above. Thanks!
