Bug Description

I have installed Gimp 2.10.6 from the Ubuntu Software application after a fresh Ubuntu 16.04.5 install and it was not running. Please see attachment.

As a workaround I have installed Snapcraft and now Gimp is working (?).

I think that this is a weird behavior but I'm quite new tu Ubuntu so I apologize if I'm wrong.

Any additional info that you may need please let me know, kind regards.

The way you installed gimp the first time (using the software center) likely attempted to install the snap version, but may not have been complete when you tried running it. Whatever the reason, since snaps are distribution-agnostic and are not part of Ubuntu, this bug is invalid. To report an issue with this particular snap, go to https://github.com/snapcrafters/gimp/issues.
