Hard freeze when upgrading deskbar-applet

It's just that -- the system hard freezes when upgrading deskbar-applet.

My hardware is Fujitsu-Siemens AmiloPro V3505 laptop running 2.6.22-14-generic SMP kernel.

I don't know if it's relevant but Gutsy on my laptop is freezing left and right. Everything was fine with Feisty. Other bug reports I filed about freeze issues are #179813 and #179818.

May I ask why this bug has been marked a duplicate of bug #179818 (Hard freeze when starting Firefox)? I see no connection between them.
