have to unlock 2-3 times after waking from suspend

Bug Description

Reproduce:
* lock screen
* close laptop lid
= system goes to sleep
* open lid
> enter password to unlock
= screen blanks for a glimpse, goes back to login screen
> enter password to unlock
= screen blanks for a glimpse, goes back to login screen
eventually the session is unlocked then, sometimes I've to login again

Ubuntu Studio 18.04.1 LTS
xfce4 4.12
xfce4-power-manager 1.6.1-0ubuntu1
light-locker 1.8.0-1ubuntu1
xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:18.0.1-1

This looks like bug 1631715.

Do you use light-locker and have the nvidia driver installed too?

I use light-locker 1.8.0-1ubuntu1 and xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:18.0.1-1.

Problem persists after adding "HandleLidSwitch=ignore" to /etc/systemd/logind.conf (to work around #1797079)

According to the report I have linked, it is actually the open source driver 'nouveau' which is exposing this issue. The AMD/ATI counterpart 'radeon' may be doing the same, so I will mark this report as duplicate.
