nautilus hangs when copying mp3 audio file

having two windows of nautilus open
copy file with <Ctrl-C> from one window
past file with <Ctrl-V> to other window
progress bar appears, runs, but stops (see attached)
file appears to have been copied correctly, because it plays correctly.
