Starting Ephiphany causes X crash and lock

Bug Description
Brand new install of the latest 5.0 beta on a Thinpad P71, Xeon, 32GB RAM, Nivida P3000.
When I click on the Epiphany icon, the X-windows session crashes, then it eventually pops up with a lightdm window. When I login again, the Dock never appears and it looks like the Xsession never runs. This is only corrected by rebooting. I have tried:
1) Bouncing lightdm
2) Killing all processes owned by my userId
Haven't been able to find any relevant logs.
I was only opening Epiphany to install a major browser anyway, so not a huge issue for me, but I did want to try to give you a good bug report.
