Bug Description
https:/
We (mixxx) developers would like to see error reports for our PPAs:
stable: https:/
beta: https:/
nightly: https:/
Since the Debian package for Mixxx is usually years old, many of our users use the PPA to get the latest version.
But they don't seem to be showing up here:
https:/
I'm seeing references to error reports from PPAs (e.g. Bug #1571777) so I think it's possible?
Is there somewhere I can go to find them, or do we need to change how our packages are built?
Also, I'm curious about crashes from Snap/AppImage/
Thanks, I'm glad that you find errors.ubuntu.com useful! The bug you've referenced contains information about why we don't retrace crashes from PPAs specifically:
"the concern is whether a hostile ppa could feed the retracers bad symbols that break gdb and compromise the retracer env. I do not assume that gdb has been well-hardened against hostile input"
Additionally, our retracing environment is some overwhelmed at this point in time. However, I'd be happy to provide guidance as to how you might utilize apport-retrace with PPAs as that should be possible or talk about how to get mixx updated in Ubuntu.
