Pinta Crashing When Rectangle Selection Tool Selected

Hi,

I started to use the Rectangle Selection tool on a PNG file today and when I clicked the rectangle select tool as I wanted to crop the image Pinta went unresponsive. Eventually a dialog popped up saying the application was busy and I could either wait or end the program, I waited and eventually it came up again and I terminated the program.

I have had a number of updates to my installation of Linux Mint 19 since the machine was last restarted so I decided to reboot my machine. After than when I click the rectangle select tool the program just closes immediately with no delay?

The Pinta Version is 1.6.

I have attached a screen grab of my latest updates as I am pretty sure this only started happening in the last few days.

This sounds very similar to the crashes caused by bug 1786822
