If you have a patron with a barcode that is the beginning substring of another patron's barcode, for example 12345 and 123450099999. Wanding in the longer barcode in the User Barcode field of the Request Items modal will sometimes retrieve the borrower with the shorter barcode, even though the longer barcode appears in the field.
A somewhat related bug is bug 1783151. This was notice in our system because of an inactive, incorrectly entered barcode.
