Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I have installed Hardy Alpha 2 on my Dell Inspiron 510m:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/DellInspiron510m

The monitor does not dim nor blank after the set periods of inactivity.

1) set G-S-S to declare session idle after 1 min
2) set G-P-M to dim on battery/AC after 1 additional minute (2 mins total)
3) wait 4 minutes: nothing happens.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I'm using Hardy Heron up to date and I followed the steps described above. I cannot reproduce this problem (my system woke up without problems). Would you test it again using the last version of Hardy?

Cheers!

Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Could you get a gnome-power-manager debug log as described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOMEPowerManager?
