Bug Description

http://dfast.sourceforge.net/index.html

"wxDownload Fast (also known as wxDFast) is an open source download manager. It is multi-platform and builds on Windows(2k,XP), Linux and Mac OS X(binary still not available). Besides that, it is a multi-threaded download manager. This means that it can split a file into several pieces and download the pieces simultaneously."

This program is one of the few (I've been able to find) that makes scheduled downloading easy. It fills a real need, and the existing deb files available for it either fail to load properly (from getdeb) or cause segmentation faults (from wxdownload site). Making this package available would greatly improve the Ubuntu experience for anyone who has to schedule downloads because of bandwidth restrictions at certain times of the day. Thanks!

I've just discovered that Downloader for X has much of the same functionality, so it seems that this is not so critical as I had thought!

Downloader for X is much more in terms of memory and cpu usage, that is why ubuntu team had stopped packaging it i think, plus Downloader for X has the same functionalities.

this is a GREAT download manager with extremely fast speeds, and a few ubuntu packages do exist for it, however, they all seem to have very high cpu usage, and all segfault...

can anyone look into the bug?

Reviewing needs-packaging bug reports I have concluded that this bug is likely a duplicate of bug 286231. It'd be great if you could help consolidate these bug reports by performing the following actions.

1. Examine both bug reports to determine if they are actually duplicates.
2. Determine which bug report is more complete - a more complete bug report will have a status of Confirmed, Triaged or In Progress, may be assigned to someone or may possess a bug watch.
3. Mark the other bug report a duplicate of the complete one by clicking 'Mark as duplicate' on the right hand side of the bug page.

Thanks for helping out!
