Icons representing files pile up on top of each other ont he desktop

Bug Description
I took a few screenshots, and created a text document using the default text-editor, and instead of placing them one below the other, it just piles up the icons one on top of the other, on the desktop.
(I did intend to save to there)
Running Peppermint9 Live from a USB stick.

This only happens on a "Live" session because file metadata can't be saved .. it doesn't occur on an installed version.
