since 4.15 missing firmware bnx2/bnx2-mips-06-6.2.3.fw

The linux-generic-hwe-16.04 upgrade from 4.13 to 4.15.0.24.46 has broken the network connectivity of my machine.

The bnx2/bnx2-mips-06-6.2.3.fw firmware seems to be missing/removed in the 4.15 kernel.

The firmware was part of the 4.4 / 4.8 / 4.10 / 4.11 / 4.13 kernels.

The missing firmware sees to be incorporated in the linux-firmware package since bionic. A backport of the linux-firmware packge is missing for xenial.
