Bug Description

Subunit 18.04 LTS
System will not boot.

I updated graphics drivers I think erroneously, then received the underrun errors and created a swap partition by accident following a fix for a similar error as was having trouble booting crypt. I commented out the swap and turned off swap and have updated my drivers and purged previous. I can access terminal, yet still cannot boot due to the undercut. I think I need to create a .conf file for the graphics drivers.

It sounds like you're referring to:

So this would be a kernel bug. However in my experience such kernel errors are also not fatal and won't cause permanent graphics problems.

Looking at your CPU model however:
  Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500
I can tell you are experiencing bug 1727356, which is not related to kernel errors at all.
