Downgrade to the latest mainline kernel 4.14.52 fixes the problem.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.18 kernel[0].

I have tested with latest 4.17.3-generic (since do not like to boot the box with rc). I cannot reproduce the bug with 4.17.
