exit code not properly returned for --specs=rdimon.specs

automatic test for code with qemu fails with --specs=rdimon.specs for
gcc-arm-none-eabi-7-2018-q2-update-linux.tar.bz2.
Tests which should fail pass.
This is broken for quite a while.
gcc-arm-none-eabi-6_2-2016q4-20161216-linux.tar works as expected.
