Bug Description

Using zsh 5.4.2 (packaged in Ubuntu 18.04) and rvm the autocomplete function makes zsh sometimes crash with the message "realloc(): invalid next size". See https://github.com/rvm/rvm/issues/4214 for more details.
This issue has been fixed in the following commit https://github.com/zsh-users/zsh/commit/a1276c88e1137c643bb8055d719afc17cb37bf0f which could be backported to the Ubuntu 18.04 package of zsh.

JFTR: This is already fixed in zsh 5.5.1-1ubuntu1 in cosmic (as that commit was included in the upstream 5.5.1 release).

So technically this is "fixed" in Ubuntu (generally). But since the request is explicitly for Ubuntu 18.04, someone with the proper permissions should update the "Affects" field accordingly.
