Bug Description

“Open transmission
Transmission opens correctly”
1) I would suggest to write the program name with a capital first letter (in all test cases), so Transmission.
2) On a fresh install Transmission first shows a dialogue (“Transmission is a file sharing”… etc etc), where the user has to agree or Cancel. Perhaps make that part of the testcase? Cancel should lead to Transmission being closed; “I agree” to proceeding.

“Select a torrent file
The torrent starts to be downloaded”
1) Perhaps provide a link to a torrent file (to latest LTS perhaps)? I don’t normally have torrent files.
2) It does first show a dialogue “Torrent options”, which needs user action first: options turned on/off/chosen, or cancel or open. Only after choosing open, the torrent starts to be downloaded.

“Click on "Pause Torrent" button
The torrent is paused”
Clicking pause is only possible if you first click on the torrent to be paused.
BTW: the button to click is not called Pause (the tooltip is); it’s a pause icon.

Click on "Start Torrent"
The torrent continues its download
the button to click is not called Start Torrent (the tooltip is); it’s a start icon.

“Click on "Properties"
A new window should appear and you must see information about the torrent there”
Option Properties is greyed out unless a torrent is selected.

“Click on "Remove Torrent", then agree to the pop up
The torrent should disappear”
Only possible if a torrent is selected.
The Icon is a minus sign, it’s not called “Remove torrent”.

“Click on "Remove Torrent", then agree to the pop up
The torrent should disappear”
There is no agree option. The options are Cancel and Remove.
Also: the pop up should also disappear.

“Open the "open a new torrent" dialogue box using the key combination: Ctrl+O”
The dialogue is called “Open a torrent”

“Open the "open a new torrent URL" dialogue box using the key combination: Ctrl+U
It opens correctly”.
This can only be done after first closing/canceling the previous (CTRL-O) dialogue, which is still open at this point.
Also: the window is called: “Open URL”

“Go to the top bar and click on "View" and then choose different bars (Toolbar, Filterbar, Statusbar, Compact View)
No issues are encounted”
This can only be done after closing/canceling previous dialogue.
Also: The Compact View switch does nothing it seems if there are no downloads running/visible. And if the tester follows this test case I don’t think there are any running at this point.
Also: Compact View is top of the menu that’s opened.

“Go to the top bar and click on "View" and later choose different Sorts (by Activity, by Age, by Name, by Progress,...)
No issues are encounted”
Not a valid test I believe when there are no torrents running, which is the case at this point I think.

“Depends on previous test”
Not sure;

“Open the transmission”
→ Open Transmission?
Also: if this depends on the previous test, Transmission should still be open, I believe.

“Select a torrent and click on "Properties"
You can see the properties interface”
If the test case is followed, I don’t think there are any torrents running/visible at this point?

(I re-opened the previous torrent – clicked “open”in the “torrent options” dialogue – the torrent resumed where it had left off)

“Try to get the same result using the key-combination: Alt+Return
You see the same interface as above”
Only works if the tester first clicked “Close” (or pressed Esc).
Why “try”, though?

“Select a torrent and click on "Open Folder"
A new window should appear and you will be in the torrent folder”
Only works if the tester first clicked “Close” (or pressed Esc).
Also: Not sure what “Open folder” is, here. In the menu there is the option “torrent” which has the option “Open folder”. I took it, that this option was meant here.

“Select a torrent and stop it”
1) After first closing the previous “folder”-dialogue.
2) There is no stop-button? Only pause, I think.

“Select the same torrent and click on "Start"
The torrent starts correctly”
Resumes?
How does the tester know that it is resuming “correctly”?

‘Click on "Pause"
The torrent pauses"”
The button to click is not called Pause (the tooltip is); it’s a pause icon.

“Click on "Start Now"
The torrent starts correctly”
I don’t see anything called start now.

“Try to get the same result using the key-combinations: Start(Ctrl+S), Pause(Ctrl+P) and Start Now(Shift+Ctrl+S)
No issues are encounted”
Typo: encountered?
Also: wouldn’t the test be that the same behaviour as above occurs?

“Add at least three torrents”
Perhaps provide links?

“Click on "Queue" and try the options (Move to Top, Move Up, Move Down and Move to Bottom)
No issues are encounted”
Queue is only available in the menu option “Torrent”.
I tried the options, but nothing seemed to happen?
Also: only possible if a torrent is selected.

“Click on "Set Location"
A new interface appears and you can select a new folder”
This also first needs a click on “torrent” in the menu.
Also: only possible if a torrent is selected.

“Click on "Verify Local Data"
The torrent verifies”
Only works after closing the previous dialogue.
This also first needs a click on “torrent” in the menu.
Also: only possible if a torrent is selected.

“Click on "Remove"
The torrent removes correctly”
We did this test above already ; why do this again?

“Click on "Delete Files and Remove"
The torrent and its files remove correctly”
This option is not visible; no menu item, no icon.
Option only available after right-clicking one of the torrents.

“Open the transmission
Transmission opens correctly”
→ Open Transmission?
Also: if this depends on the previous test, Transmission should still be open, I believe.

“Click on "Pause"
The buttons changes colour”
Grammar? Which button(s)?

“Go to the top bar, click the "Help" menu and then "Statistics"
A new interface appears and you see a lot of information about your moves”
can only be done if previous dialogue is closed first
Also: “information about your moves” My *moves”?? :-)

“Click on "Reset"
A confirmation message will appear after it, all your statistics will be reset”
The tester first needs to click “reset” in that message before the statistics are reset.

“Go to the top bar and click the "Help" menu and later "Donate"
Your web browser will open the donation page of the Transmission project”
1) Can only be done if the previous dialogue is first closed.
2) “later”? How much later though? ;-)

“Press "F1"
Your web browser will open the site about Transmission help”
Only if we first close the donation page we opened in the step above.

“Navigate main topics
There are no issues with the content”
Well, there are issues, at least the site itself says: “NOTE: these help files are getting older and further out-of-date
Please help to update them!”

“Go to the top bar, click the "Help" menu and then "Contents"
The same content which was displayed in the previous step is shown”
So, we are back in transmission but didn’t tell the tester that.
