gnome-gpg stopped working

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-keyring

Using gnome-gpg does not result in gnome-keyring prompts. Instead, it always fails, reporting:

  Couldn't search keyring (code 9)

This happens every time, and I haven't been successful in tracking down the cause yet.

Hi Kees
I also experience this bug in Hardy Heron, but i think the affected package is wrong, should be gnome-gpg, since is this package which fails before access gnome-keyring and no the other way around, so i'm changing the package and confirming the issue.

Changed in gnome-keyring:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

With input from other people, I've now stopped using gnome-gpg and started using "seahorse" instead -- it works natively with gpg and has better timeout preferences.

That's not, however, a fix ;-)

Yup, very true. :) I just meant it as a work-around for people that need similar functionality until this is fixed.
