Bug Description
Hi, I'm tested HPLIP3.18.5 on Ubuntu 18.04 x64, Xubuntu 18.04 x86 and Ubuntu 16.04 x86, just in Ubuntu 18.04 x64 the scanner of HP M1212nf doesnt work, prints are ok.
I really done everything, every tutorial on internet, but, scanner doesnt work. The error refered a I/O problem, the simple scan e xsane doesnt comunicate with scanner.
A error of system tray appeard too.

Looks like plug-in is not installed properly.
Could you please run "hp-plugin" command. It will download and install plug-in automatically.
If you still face any issue. Please let me know.
