race condition when deleting search text

I think I may have discovered a (relatively harmless) race condition. When you type text into the search entry box, it fills the treeview with matching results. Usually when you delete the search text from the text entry, the treeview gets cleared of all results. However, sometimes after deleting the search text, the results shows a collapsed row called "Applications" (or something similar), and if you expand this row, it shows all available applications.
