The ubuntu 18.04 installer went through the installation process and then suddenly halted, said I cannot install the grub bootloader. Looks like I am cooked. My machine is useless without an operating system. I did not even keep my older ubuntu 14.04 installation.

Bug Description
I got ubuntu 18.04 a couple of weeks ago. I finally got to trying an installation. I did not even keep my older installation and now the single problem is that it cannot install a grub booting program. I have no idea what to do to install grub separately. The machine will not boot without grub. My goose is cooked. What should I do now?
