Bug Description

Hey, i hope someone might fix the issue on finnish language translation according the time format, because in finland we use xx:xx:xx format on time, not xx.xx.xx

I hope this issue fixed soon.

affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) → glibc (Ubuntu)

Thanks for your report.

Ubuntu uses the locales provided by glibc. glibc in turn uses CLDR as a guidance for time format, and there the prescribed format for Finnish is XX.XX.XX.

We won't change this in Ubuntu only. I would recommend that you file a change request at CLDR:

http://cldr.unicode.org/

and then file a bug to <https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/> to have it changed in glibc too. It's helpful if you post URLs to such upstream requests here.

Please let me know if you have questions; I'll be happy to help if I can.

This bug is invalid in that the official format is xx.xx.xx, even though in casual use xx:xx:xx sees a lot of use due to influence from other countries.

See http://www.kielitoimistonohjepankki.fi/ohje/51 for more information.

Changed in glibc (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
