Bug Description

After upgrading to bionic, suddenly I know longer have an appindicator for shutter at the top of the screen on one of the machines I updated.

However, on another machine I upgraded, the appindicator is still there.

This appears to be because the latter machine has libgtk2-appindicator-perl installed on it whereas the the former does not.

That package was available in artful but apparently has been removed in bionic?

How do I get my shutter appindicator back? And I think this qualifies as an upgrade regression.

N.B.: Workaround: install libappindicator-dev and then do "sudo cpanm Gtk2::AppIndicator".

It is useful answer.

But for first you need to install package "cpanminus"
Full list of commands is:

sudo apt install libappindicator-dev
sudo apt install cpanminus
sudo cpanm Gtk2::AppIndicator
