Just doing a dist-upgrade and got the error message.

Thank you for deploying a broken mysql-server package.

How do I let dpkg ignore mysql-server-5.7 at a "sudo dpkg --configure --pending" and "sudo apt-get install -f"?

I can't downgrade mysql-server to work around the issue nor install my desired package.

Has policy-rc.d been configured to prevent changes to the server state?
