Installer crashes near end

I got this message when trying to install MythBuntu:

I did the following options during installation:
English language
Location Amsterdam
Keyboard US English with dead keys
Manual partitioning
Only format hda1 as / (ext3)
Change mountpoint on hda3 to /home (ext3) (I want to keep this one)
Change mountpoint on hda4 to /medai/mythtv (xfs) (This is my recording dir)
Advanced installation
Primary BE+FE
Unselect Archive, Browser, Controls, Flix, News and Phone
Unselect SSH Service and Samba Service
set Mythweb security
set MySQL security
configure remote --> Windows MCE newer Philips
modify Video & Driver settings --> nvidia_new, Composite PAL-G tv-out
Unselect Silicon HDHomeRun
select XMLTV

I was able to reproduce the bug multiple times.

Was this an advanced install? If so did you verify your connection to the
backend before progressing forward?

As I said in the first followup post explaining the steps I took to get to the bug:

So there is as of yet no backend to verify the connection with. This is meant to be the primary (and only) backend and frontend. It's a standalone system.

This ended up being related to having an existing home directory that was not wiped. It has been fixed for Hardy.

I am receiving this similar failure near the end of install of eeebubtu beta 4.

ubuiquity frontend.py

and

grubinstaller failed with code 1 (configuring bootloader)
