Bug Description

After apt-get install of ZABBIX Server, icon's database is empty : no icon has been initialized . Therefore, it's impossible to realize network maps.
Indeed, 'images.sql' file (which is necessary during installation to initiate icons database) is missing.

To overcome this problem, it is necessary to download source on ZABBIX website, extract the file images.sql, and then run this script in the ZABBIX database.

Thus, the bug is fixed.

I can confirm that this but exists upstream on Debian 4.0 (Etch).

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?

Problem is still present in karmic.
Please let me know which further details you may need, even if original post is quite complete, IMHO

Installed 1.8.2 (mysql) on debian lenny - we have icons.
But /usr/share/zabbix-server contains only 2 scripts: data.sql & mysql.sql. No images.sql, so the created manually fork doesn't have them (database was created using the above scripts.)

4 years later now, and this bug is still present, at least in 11.10. Fortunately the fix (executing images.sql from source) also still works.
