I have just experienced this on Kubuntu 20.04. I have an nvidia card and apt just upgraded the nvidia drivers. I wonder if that is related. After the upgrade, blender refuses to start, stating that there is no supported graphics card so *something* has changed there.

I just updated my NVIDIA driver on Kubuntu 20.04. I had to use a konsel and issue the rebbot command to bypass this problem. Could this be a problem with NVIDIA drivers.
