This is caused by a missing setting in org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences.

This can be seen thanks to this error message that appears in the backtrace:

Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences' does not contain a key named 'application-based'"

I unmerged this bug because the symptoms are the same, but the cause is different.
