Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-cups-manager

I installed a HP printer using jetdirect with the gnome cups manager. I kept on getting the following error message when printing "(/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip) stopped with status 3!". After installing several packages I installed the hplip package which resolved this issue. It would be nice if these packages would be installed or a pop-up window asking you to install this package when you select hp jetdirect in the gnome cups manager. This is more a wish that a serious bug.

This is a missing dependency in the hpijs package (generated by the hplip source package). This was already reported as bug 149511 and there the fix is also proposed as an update for Gutsy.
