Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in evolution

I've got the same problem. In dutch, the error-message go's:

"
Het Evolution adresboek is plotseling gesloten.

Uw contacten voor file:///home/dadio/.evolution/addressbook/local/system zullen niet beschikbaar zijn totdat Evolution herstart is.
"

How to simulate the crash:
Open evolution
Open the adressbook
Klick on category: anniversary
Klick back on category: All

Voilá, evolution crashes...

Same problem as Dadio. I get the same message.

How to simulate the crash:

open evolution
open adressbook
click on a category

and I receive the message. (meaning: addressbook has suddenly closed. Your contacts for file: ///(my home directory)/.evolution/addressbook/local/system will not be available until you restart Evolution)

no contacts are visible any more.

same problem here.

I'm with gutsy...

While the main function of evolution is sending emails, actually being able to categorize contacts is also a major feature... No one with a big contact list would be very happy with this bug... Could this get a bit more attention? At least it should have bigger importance!
Also, the gnome bug associated to this bug report seems to be related to LDAP, not to categories... In my case, *only* have one local address book.

Thanks

Isn't this bug a dupplicate of #135471?

The bug refered was fixed and the correction uploaded into gutsy-proposed-updates... It solved my problems.
