Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Looks ok on windows firefox. I suspect its a flash or Java page of some kind but this is the only site that upsets firefox.

opening that site consumes cycles because flash is started. Though
firefox could do better to stay more reponsive while this happens, its
a flash bug in the end

I presume you mean its a Linux flash bug since its ok in windows.
However, seems to work ok in Konqueror.

No, standard Gutsy on a Dell E521, 4GB ram. Its a little better now for some reason, I think they have changed their homepage content. Firefox is still unusably slow on that site, but it least it does not make the whole OS nearly grind to a halt.

This seems to have regressed again to the same behaviour. It may be partially due to the running of the non-restricted graphic driver. Acrobat is very slow and CPU hungry on standard PDF's too. But I cannot try the restricted driver due to Bug 145112, which (hopefully) needs Hardy to fix it :-(

No I have not seen this bug since upgrading. Now on 10.04, but 8.04 was fine too..
