Enabling LIvePatch fails

Bug Description
I logged in with my Launchpad credentials to GNOME Settings > Online Accounts > Ubuntu Single Sign-On
I opened the Software & Updates app. I switched to the Updates tab and tried to enable Livepatch. I entered my sudo password when prompted.
After a few moments, I got a popup telling me that LivePatch couldn't be enabled.

It appears to have worked the second time I tried to enable it. Here's my status now:

It looks like a bug in canonical-livepatch client. The error message was: "2018/03/26 13:19:19 error executing enable: Connection to the daemon failed: Put http:// 127.0.0. 1/enable? auth-token=<redacted> : dial unix /var/snap/ canonical- livepatch/ 36/livepatchd- priv.sock: connect: no such file or directory"
