package udev 229-4ubuntu21.2 failed to install/upgrade: package udev is already installed and configured

Tried to install wine and it would never launch. locked up terminal window. Other problems with trying to remove gmail pgm for web from system. Msg that it couldn't remove it. Out of clear get report problem msg box and not sure where or what initiated it.
