Milestone state seems to prevent closing a bug

I cannot change the bug status from "fix committed" to "fix released", i.e. close the tickets.
The error message that I get is rather context free and incomprehensible ("1 error"? where?). See screenshot.
My guess is that it has something to do with the milestone, because it applies to all tickets with milestone 4.2.0, whereas tickets with milestone 4.2.1 can be closed. The affected milestone is open but has a release date, the working one is open and has no release date assigned. That's the only difference I can see.
What's also indicative of the milestone is the fact that the milestone field is emptied in the error page. It's set in the ticket, but after clicking on "save", the field is shown as unset (but not changed in the ticket itself).
