system freezes

Bug Description

system will freeze up in nautilus no mater what i am doing then go back to normal. Cpu will spike to 100%. system specs as follows Hp Pavilion 514 n.

omitting usb controllers don't think thats the problem

no incompatibilities on sound card or video card but also listed is the trigem computer inc unknown device

Kaj again with something else i wanted to add.

When i first installed the 7.10 edgy it said that i had a 172gb hda now it lists it at 72gb hda could corruption or bad read write heads be the cause and if so would i need a new hdd.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that this is an older issue; is it still happening in the latest release 8.04 Hardy? If so, set the bug back to 'new' and leave a comment to signify that it is ready for triage / review. Otherwise if the issue has been fixed, please set the status to 'invalid'.
