Bug Description

Similar thing that happens here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1714839

The difference is that I can't log in. So it dies before it asks me to login.

The workaround is to boot into an old kernel.

This happens to me too. Bionic freezes on the splash screen. I can get in via recovery mode but that's it. Also this guy on Ask Ubuntu has a similar Xorg.0.log where at the end the power button, keyboard, and mouse get removed.

I should say it's with the current kernel as of this date. I can't go check because I've gone back to Xenial for now.

Sorry for the slow response, but does this problem still occur? If so then please run this command on the problematic machine:
