Software: searching for programs / packages doesn't work

Bug Description
(As seen in Software v3.27.92, as present in the latest daily build of 32bit Ubuntu Budgie)
Searching for various programs (Gimp, Kazaam, Abiword, Blender) does not find the program - "no application found".
Searching for Firefox only returns a Gnome-shell extension called "Search Firefox Bookmarks Provider".
