Bug Description
While I was running the update, there was no space on the /boot partition, and that finally resulted in Kernel breakage of an already existing version (this one).

The error in your logs was:
> update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd. img-4.4. 0-112-generic img-4.4. 0-112-generic with 1.
> cat: write error: No space left on device
> update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.
I'm afraid this is not a bug in initramfs-tools. You need to free up enough space in /boot to be able to write the initramfs for the new kernel.
