window list should not minimize

Hello,

I'd like to request a new feature for the window list applet that comes with Gnome (I'm using Ubuntu 7.10, Gnome 2.20.1):

        Add a new option to let one disable window minimizing in the window list applet.

The current implementation contains an annoying bug (#41761) that drives me crazy. As I rarely if ever minimize windows, a new option would be the perfect fit for my needs.

When minimizing is disabled, the behavior should be as follows:

1) If you click the window list for a window that is not the topmost window, bring it to the top and activate it
2) If you click the window list for a window that is already the topmost window, activate it

Please let me know if you need any more information. If feature requests, should be reported elsewhere, I would appreciate if you could drive me in the correct direction. Thanks much for your time and efforts.

Thanks for your report, the bug you're talking about is a dup of 11738 which according to the reporter it was fixed for him with dapper, If you see that this bug wasn't fixed, please report a new one indicating the steps to reproduce the bug so we can test and triage it, but it doesn't make too much sense to report a wishlist in order to have a workaround for another report you're facing. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your quick action. The RFE is not merely here to provide a workaround for the mentioned bug, but rather to make window list function the way I would prefer. I don't want to let window list minimize a window - ever. A new preference option would therefore much appreciated.

But I will file a bug report for the faulty window list behavior as suggested. Thanks.
