tremulous crashes X on game start

When starting tremulous 1.1.0-4 on Ubuntu 7.10, join or create a game. As soon as the loading process is finished and the game should start, X hangs and accepts no input anymore. Ctrl-alt-backspace does not work.

Outputs of lspci -v and my xorg.conf will be attached, feel free to request further information.

I'm getting the same problem with World of Padman - as soon as the actual game should start, X freezes.

I have the same problem but with Intel integrated chipset intel 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller 3Ghz CPU
