Bug Description

I am using xubuntu 17.10 on ASUS T101HA-GR030T and different kind of SD cards (everything working fine on Windows) :
1) No one is detected if they are plugged before to load Xubuntu.
2) Some are detected if plugged when OS is ready : ex : SAMSUNG 32 EVO. ????
3) Some are never detected : ex : TOSHIBA 32 GO and SANDISK 32 GO. ????

For informations,

4) It is impossible to use the microphone (looking locked) on the same computer. Work fine with Windows. I don't know what to do. Blocked.

5) Impossible to log on with WIFI on a NETGEAR router with Xubuntu only. Under investigations.

Sorry about my poor "Frenglish".

See you later.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.16 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I made 3 or 4 upgrades with the same result.
This never worked on my Asus.
But may be i can recognize the Samsung card recently only.

I will do my best to  test the latest upstream kernel.

The other problem with the microphone looking locked is more  bad for
me, since i habitually use Audacity.

Se you.

Thanks

No more bug on my Asus T101HA-GR030T about the micro SD cards management :
All the types of 32 GB micro SD cards i tested (SANDISK, SAMSUNG, TOSHIBA) are recognized at OS-INIT and works fine even if dismount and remount.

Unfortunately, on the same computer, the bug about sound card is worst : "Impossible to connect to Pulse audio server". Then NO SOUND for now.
