Bug Description
Hello,
I and probably a lot of users prefer Ubuntu LTS versions on production machines. ecCodes is also one of the important packages that scientific community use. So, please, could you back port this package to Xenial 16.04?
I could manage install from source but I (and probably most of the users) prefer to install from Ubuntu repository in terms of easy installation. I thought it won't be a big deal for you to back port.
PS: I saw Zak's PPA but it's an older release and also he says that it's a testing repo and he warns that it might not work. I also asked this in the 'answers section' and I was asked open a bug report.
Regards,
isezen
