Bug Description
In bionic (vagrant 1.9.1+dfsg-1) vagrant reports:
The provider 'virtualbox' that was requested to back the machine
'ldap' is reporting that it isn't usable on this system. The
reason is shown below:
Vagrant has detected that you have a version of VirtualBox installed
that is not supported by this version of Vagrant. Please install one of
the supported versions listed below to use Vagrant:
4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.0, 5.1
A Vagrant update may also be available that adds support for the version
you specified. Please check www.vagrantup.
the latest version.
Which seems correct, as bionic includes virtualbox 5.2
So please include an updated vagrant in bionic (or downgrade virtualbox).

Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
vagrant has now been upgraded to version 2.0.2+dfsg-2ubuntu8 in Ubuntu bionic, which should include support for Virtualbox 5.2. (See also the attached bug watch for details). Could you please test with the newer version to see if it works as expected now?
