Bug Description

Newly-installed daily build of Lubuntu 18.04.

Suprised to see "Thai X terminal" installed by default (with icon of Thai flag), despite the fact that I selected English as my default language, US keyboard, Australian locale, and no other language packs added.

Thanks,
Ken.

Please give the output of apt list --installed | pastebinit and a screenshot of the entry if you can.

Hi Simon, pastebinit is not pre-installed on this daily build, and when I try "sudo apt install pastebinit" I get "unable to locate package". it's not visible via the Software Centre GUI either. I used Leafpad instead - output pasted below.

(As an aside, Lubuntu doesn't seem to ship with a screenshot tool installed by default under accessories - maybe it's worth proposing that it does?)

Thanks - I've heard of Imgur, but never had the need to investigate / use it. Anyhow, got the job done.
As for the screenshot, I successfully attached it to a bug report on a separate but related issue - Bug 1747558.

Thanks,
Ken.

Ah, right. This isn't a locale error, it's the desktop file for xterm.

The "Thai X Terminal" also gets installed by default on an Australian build of Xubuntu 20.04.

Go figure!

I can also confirm that "Thai X Terminal" (xiterm+thai) is installed by default on vanilla Ubuntu 20.04 (Australian locale).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Just a comment, I would have created a new bug report for *focal* (and not related to Lubuntu-Next), with A link back to this report. Given Lubuntu-Next now has no purpose (LXQt has been standard Lubuntu since 18.10), this will gain minimal attention.

The issue no doubt belongs to a package used by main Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu and maybe others. I may even have that package installed on my *groovy* (AU locale) system, but currently I'm unsure what it's about (fonts-thai-tlwg?? is my best guess, which `apt-cache rdepends` shows is included in many packages.. but I don't know sorry)
