torbrowser-launcher fails after browser update

After the latest upgrade of the tor browser, torbrowser-launcher fails to start tor-browswer. The error message is

where XXXXX stands for the username.
The bug is knwn upstream, https://github.com/micahflee/torbrowser-launcher/issues/306
(fixed in 0.2.9).

The workaround is to download the bionic package, it installs on ardvark w/o failed dependencies.

Why do we not upgrade this package to a version where this bug does not appear as it makes Tor for me unusable?
