Bug Description

Hi,

Trying to run Byobu, and getting the following error

/usr/bin/byobu: 52: .: Can't open //lib/byobu/include/common

I've seen a potential fix which is to check .byoburc in the $HOME folder, but this file doesn't exist.

I've attempted to reinstall, this hasn't helped.

Thanks

David

What version of Byobu? What distro?

Looks like maybe you didn't follow the build instructions all the way through?

Changed in byobu:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I have the same issue. Default byobu on Ubuntu 20.04 and 20.10. Error:
/usr/bin/byobu: 52: .: Can't open /home/lib/byobu/include/common

the file does exist: /lib/byobu/include/common

Why is byobu looking for this in /home?

This appears to be a configuration or cod error in byobu as nothing else is pointing in this direction for byobu's configuration file.

The issue is in the ~/.byoburc file

Delete this file and byobu will run

rm -r ~/.byoburc
