1/8 and 1/16 loops fail randomly

Tiny loops like 1/8 or 1/16 beat) don't get activated randomly. The loop markers and the loop range show up in waveforms but aren't active, not even for one pass.

I noticed this when I tried to trigger the loops via controller.

Attemps via fixed-size loop buttons in Tango seem to work down to 1/8 beat
i.e. beatlooproll_0.125_activate

Attempts via beatloop_activate button and beatloopsize spinbox fail randomly for 1/16 and 1/32:
loop range and reloop_toggle are ON but the track would keep on playing as if nothing happened. Increase loopsize with the spinbox buttons it suddenly jumps back to that loop and keeps looping it.

Maybe this has to do with quantization? Does this happen if you turn it off?

Quantization is always off. Can't you repoduce?

I can reproduce this only with quatization on.

I can reliably reproduce it with 2.2.0-alpha-pre (build master r6458),
both with controller and GUI buttons.

Should I try with 2.1 beta?
